United Way's volunteers address the underlying causes of critical issues around EDUCATION, INCOME, & HEALTH, the building blocks for a better life. Committed volunteers are a critical resource to produce long lasting change in our community creating opportunities for a better life for all:
- EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES: To help prepare Polk's children who are among 38% who are not ready for kindergarten when they start school.
- INCOME OPPORTUNITIES: To help with financial education and income tax preparation intended to offer credit repair and reduce debt for working families to creat financial stability.
- HEALTH OPPORTUNITIES: To help children and families access available community health programs that provide preventative, everyday healthcare.

You can also volunteer to serve Polk, Hardee, and Highlands Counties by joining a United Way committee.
