Southern Wine & Spirits and United Way Loaned Executives Help Alliance for Independence Recover from Vandalism

Thursday November 19, 2009

On Thursday, November 19th, the United Way 2009 Loaned Executives (LEs) assembled 5 picnic tables, donated by Southern Wine and Spirits, to replace those damaged by vandals at Alliance for Independence in Lakeland.

The Loaned Executives have taken this on as a final project and legacy as this is their last week working with the United Way of Central Florida.

The LEs that participated include Ahmad Kasem from State Farm, Amanda Wright and Joey Touchstone from Publix Supermarkets, Inc., Rebecca Klitchman from GEICO, Curtis Templeton sponsored by Winter Haven Hospital, Carolyn Ivey sponsored by MOSAIC and Michael Gordon sponsored by Watson Clinic.

Each year United Way looks to its community-minded partners for assistance with the annual fundraising campaign. By sponsoring individuals and/or Loaned Executives to work with the full-time resource development staff, companies allow United Way to multiply resources to facilitate over 600 workplace campaigns, minimize fund-raising costs, better serve and educate donors, and raise more dollars that go directly to fund programs and services that support those who need it most.

United Way of Central Florida has been serving the local community for 29 years by understanding local needs and driving lasting change to build better lives and stronger communities. For more information about UWCF visit www.uwcf.org or call 863-648-1500.
