Improving Grades in Polk, Hardee & Highlands Counties
UWCF’s Academic Achievement Initiative helps to improve high school graduation rates. Help us to improve academic achievement in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties.
Polk County Public School graduation rates have improved from 69% to 80% over the past four years.
UWCF worked to establish collaborative tutoring and mentoring services for K-12 students at risk of failing school. Working with local experts in education, UWCF established age-appropriate curricula and reliable assessments consistent with best practices.
Students who receive UWCF funded services attend school more often, are promoted at a higher rate and receive higher grades in reading and math than a control group of statistically identical students who did not receive those services.
