Paper (will work best on dark color paper but plain paper will work)
Small toys or objects
Using a dark colored sheet of construction paper or another type of dark colored paper you may have put a toy or object on the paper and leave outside in the sun for much of the day
Check on the item after an hour.
Talk to your child: Has anything changed?
Check on the item again, after three hours. Is the experiment still in the full sun? Has anything changed? Consider moving the paper and object if it is not still in full sun.
Check on the item after 6 hours. What has happened?
Why do you think the paper is fading? Why didn’t the space under the item fade?
Is there anything else you notice about the paper?
