28,821 families with children live below the “Household Survival Budget” for Polk County residents. These hardworking families do not earn enough money to pay typical rent, utilities or childcare and, even with food stamps, cannot afford to feed their families three meals a day.
In Polk, 95,800 individuals, 15% of the population, are unsure they will have enough food to feed their families three meals a day. 32,470 children in Polk County do not know if food will be available when they are hungry.
3,530 people, or 12.9%, of Hardee County residents live with food insecurity. Over half of them are children.
The Highlands County Food Insecurity Rate is 14,810, or 15%; 4,340 are children.

Types of End Hunger services we fund:
Bi-monthly mobile food pantry drops that feed 200 to 400 families frozen meats, fresh produce and dry goods for a week to supplement nutritional needs between paychecks
Food deliveries to food pantries
Mobile markets of nutritious foods at highly discounted prices
