Success By 6: Master Teachers
Master Teachers provide supervised internships in childcare centers serving children from low-income families.
In the fiscal year 2018/2019, the average improvement on the highest score of either the Reddy On-Task or the Classroom Quality Assessment was 29%, with improvements ranging from 4-49%.
38 out of 40 classrooms improved 15% or more on at least one of the two assessment tools used to measure age-appropriate on-task behavior and classroom quality indicating that 95% of the sites met goal. 621 children received direct services.
In 2017/2018 students tracked to kindergarten scored 22% better in reading and 28% better in math than the control group of similar children who did not receive Master Teacher services. 89 preschool caregivers were trained and will continue to provide language-rich environments for the children they serve for years to come.
The final count of children affected by the Master Teacher training is impossible to calculate!
