United Way of Central Florida receives $50,000 to improve education
LAKELAND, Fla. | A Highlands County father and daughter have teamed up to donate $25,000 to United Way of Central Florida.
Ashley Chaney Bishop, owner of Budget Insurance, Inc.; and Gerald Chaney, owner of Chaney’s Auto Sales DBA: Cars and Trucks for You, Inc.; made the donation to support education programs in Highlands County.
Thanks to the Crenshaw Leadership Challenge, a match program provided by generous United Way supporters, Bishop and Chaney’s entire $25,000 gift will be matched, making their total gift $50,000.
“We are extremely grateful for the many ways Budget Insurance, Inc. inspires others to follow their leadership and spirit of philanthropy,” said Christina Criser Jackson, incoming President and CEO of UWCF. “They are true champions in improving lives and strengthening the Highlands County community.”
Bishop said she is proud of the impact this gift will make.
“I am most passionate about the education in our community and believe that, as a mother of two little boys, educating our children will only make the future of our community better,” Bishop said.
