Puddle Jumping - United Way of Central Florida
Materials needed:
- Paper
- Scisors
- Crayons or markers
Instructions:
- Prior to this jumping activity, some prep work will need to be done.
- Your child can help you to cut and color “puddles” (see video for example).
- Try and make your puddles as close to paper size as you can. They will be easier to jump to when they are bigger.
- Once you have approximately 10-15 puddles made, you are ready to begin.
- Encourage your child to help you lay out all the puddles.
- Keep in mind you want to be able to jump from one to the next, so don’t put them too far apart.
- Have fun puddle jumping!
Extension:
- Add letters or numbers to your puddles.
- Encourage your child to jump to find a specific one.
- This will support letter and number recognition.
- If you can, use your hose to make a puddle outside.
- Allow your child to play, jump and splash in their puddle.
