Come together with other volunteers to make a difference for our Day of Caring projects.

Individuals and organizations from across Central Florida come together every year for United Way of Central Florida’s Day of Caring to participate in volunteer projects that make an impact in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties.

Hundreds of participants roll up their sleeves to help out our local nonprofits by cleaning local parks, sanitizing children’s toys, stocking shelves, painting walls and much more.

Many UWCF Day of Caring projects are designed to help children succeed in school.  In previous years, Citizens Bank & Trust employees volunteered at Crystal Lake Elementary to inventory library resources as well as pack Easter food boxes for 25 students’ families. A team of volunteers from GEICO helped compile and deliver books for ReadingPals students.

All projects benefit nonprofit organizations that partner with UWCF to improve the health, education and financial stability of Polk and Hardee and Highlands county residents.

According to IndsependentSector.org, a national nonprofit that promotes community engagement by volunteering, the nearly 2,000 hours of work performed on Day of Caring sites in 2022 was valued at $45,000.

There is no way we can have this kind of impact without such an amazing group of community members!

Join us on April 21 for Day of Caring 2023!
