The Hot Lava Game

Instructions:

1. Tell your child you will be playing a game called Hot Lava. You must pretend the floor all around is lava and you cannot touch it or you will melt.
2. Have your child help you set up a course to get through the lava
   • You can use furniture, paper, paper plates, towels, pillows, cushions or anything else you may have to create “rocks” and “islands” (these will be your safe zones you will want to stay on, so you don’t melt in the lava)
3. Encourage your child to make their way through the course.
4. Cheer them on each time they make it from one rock or island to the next.
5. Remind them not to touch the ground because it is lava.
6. Continue to play as long as your child is interested.
7. You can change up your course to make it more challenging each time they make it through without melting.
