Ask your child if they can name some jungle animals.
Snakes
Jaguars
Leopards
Gorillas
Tigers
Bats
Koala Bears
Rhinoceroses
Sloths
Elephants
Black Bears
And many more…
As you are going through the jungle animals, ask your child questions like:
What sounds does this animal make?
What do they eat?
Where do they sleep in the jungle, high in the treetops or on the jungle floor?
Make a snake craft
Cut a swirl in your paper making a twisted snake (watch video for me to model this)
Allow your child to use whatever craft materials you may have to decorate their snake (scrap paper, sequins, glitter, stamps, or they can simply color)
Extension:
Create a jungle maze using tissue paper rolls, string, or yarn.
Encourage the child to make their way through the maze
Bats, Sloths, and sometimes Snakes all hang upside down in the jungle
With parent support and supervision, lay on your couch upside down, hang over the edge just enough to have your head hang upside down but you are up enough to support your body from slipping.
Can you hang upside down all day like these animals? Talk about why or why not.
