Fine Motor Lacing

Instructions:

1. Prior to beginning the activity, parents will need to prep the roll with holes.  Use a hole puncher if available.  If not available, you can use scissors or a pencil to poke holes all throughout the roll.
2. If you are using string or yarn, wrap tape around the ends, so it will not fray on your child during the activity.
3. Encourage your child to lace through the holes.

Helpful hint ** if you cut the roll in half it is easier to make the hole with a hold puncher and another plus is then you have 2 to work with

Extension:

1. If you have more rolls available, you can use these to create a 3-D art piece. Look online with your child to show them different 3-D sculptures and child made artwork. Encourage them to create their own 3-D masterpiece by lacing several rolls together to make something new.
2. Find a place in your home to display the art.
