For over 45 years, GEICO employees have opened their hearts and rolled up their sleeves to support the communities where they live and work.

Annually they support United Way through their workplace campaign and show their creativity by hosting several fun events like food truck rallies, Buc’s Rallies and their annual talent show.

In 2019, GEICO raised $826,936, making them the UWCF’s No. 2 supporter. Their corporate gift increased by 33%, employee giving increased by 26%, their total number of Leadership Giving Association members increased by 69% and their special event fundraising increased by 159%.

GEICO employees have a passion for giving back and their contributions help countless lives throughout their local areas. Troy C. Smith, GEICO employee and UWCF Resource Development Chair, knows the impact of United Way first-hand.

“When I think about United Way, it takes me way back to my childhood,” Smith said. “I remember being a kid and anticipating a birthday or a holiday in which I would receive a present and being very excited. As I matured, I got excited to give back and give presents as well.

“United Way, when I was a young man growing up in New York City, gifted me with services from the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters. Through that organization, I received values that I hold true and take with me today.”
