Left over plastic eggs from Easter or hard-boiled eggs
Enough spoons for the number of people playing
Optional: tape or chalk
Vocabulary:
Balance
Egg
Spoon
Instructions:
Create a starting and ending point for the race should be the first step. You can use tape or chalk to mark these points if you can. Otherwise just talk to your child about where they will start and stop.
Give your child a spoon and allow them an opportunity to practice holding the egg in the spoon without any movement yet.
When they are ready to begin have them get on the starting line
Have two people go at the same time to “race” each other to the end.
If there are more than 2 people playing more can go at once just be mindful of spacing everyone out enough that they will not run into each other down the course.
See how many times you can make it to the end without dropping your egg.
If you drop your eggs your opponent wins the round.
