UWCF Awarding $32,513 in Grant Funds for Family Financial Stability Programming

United Way of Central Florida is officially requesting proposals from qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for a Family Financial Stability Grant.
.
$32,513 in grant funds are available for the development or expansion of Family Financial Stability Programming in Polk or Hardee Counties of Florida. Preferred consideration will be given to programs providing service in northeast Polk county.
.
Programming proposals must include general public access to financial education classes and free tax preparation services. Additional programming may include money coaches, mentors, access to online financial education and other services known to improve the financial stability of low-income individuals and families. Only new programs or nonprofit organizations that do not currently receive funding from the United Way of Central Florida are eligible.
.
In one or more of the following areas the successful applicant will demonstrate the capacity to produce positive change for families by an improvement in credit scores, an increase in funds in emergency savings of at least $300, an increase in job credentials that could lead to an increase of family income and/or proposed outcome described in your application to one or more of the aforementioned changes.
.
Selections will be awarded based on the degree of demonstrated success, how clearly the proposed program is defined, the articulation of a realistic plan to operate a required IRS VITA, free tax preparation site, potential for leveraging additional resources and ability and willingness to partner with and speak about the United way of Central Florida.
.
The grant period runs from September 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 and the application deadline is Friday, August 12, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Direct questions can be sent via email to Scott Lonsberry at scott.lonsberry@uwcf.org. The award decision will be made by C.O.B August 26, 2022.
