United Way of Central Florida names Gwen Allen new Director of Major Gifts & Leadership Advancement.
LAKELAND, FL | United Way of Central Florida is excited to announce and welcome Gwen Allen to the team as Director of Major Gifts and Leadership Advancement.
Allen’s new mission is to partner with the generous communities within Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties and empower their individual areas of passion to make the greatest impact through philanthropic stewardship.
“Over the past 15 years, Gwen has advocated to improve lives and strengthen the community. She has built reputable relationships with community and business leaders. And she has assisted individuals in supporting their philanthropic endeavors. We are grateful to have her on our team,” said Christina Criser Jackson, UWCF President & CEO.
She joins the UWCF team from Southeastern University’s Office of Advancement and, previously, Polk State Corporate College.
Allen, a long-time Central Florida resident, attended Southeastern University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in 2005. She is a CFRE candidate, member of Leadership Lakeland Class XXXVIII and President of Cleveland Heights Neighborhood Association. Allen is also an engaged board member for The Lakeland Rotary Club, Tropics Youth Football Club and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
