YLS VOLUNTEER PROJECT

United Way of Central Florida’s Young Leader Society engaged in a volunteer project at the Women’s Care Center in Bartow Florida this month. Some members spent time cleaning and painting the kitchen.

The hosts were very pleased with the results and YLS members are looking forward to returning to paint other rooms.

The Women’s Care Center’s mission is to provide safe temporary housing for homeless women and children while providing opportunities to move toward financial independence.  The Transitional Living Center and Independence Program, UWCF funded programs, offers hands on financial education with a focus on budgeting, savings and credit restoration, as well as job training.

Our Mission

To inspire our community to give, advocate and volunteer by identifying needs and mobilizing vetted resources to create positive, local change.

Our Vision

To unite our community and empower everyone to achieve their full potential.
