Hawkes Serves United Way of Central Florida as Director of Major Gifts
LAKELAND, Fla. | United Way of Central Florida announces that Bob Hawkes is now filling the role of Director of Major Gifts.
“We are pleased to have Bob Hawkes as our Major Gifts Director at UWCF,” said Christina Criser Jackson, Vice President of Resource Development. “With a financial background, coupled with nonprofit management and mission-driven experience, Bob is a proven asset who can help move our team forward.”
Hawkes, who started his position at UWCF late 2018, said he is dedicated to working with donors to find ways to make the most out of their gift.
“My Certified Financial Planner™ background allows me to sit down with our donors and talk pretty in-depth about their giving strategy,” Hawkes said. “I want people to have the opportunity to make the type of impact in our Central Florida community that they want.
“My goal is to help people match their passion with a plan that could be beneficial from a tax standpoint. If I can help do that, it’s a win-win.”
Hawkes graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He became a Certified Financial Planner™ in 2003. Hawkes and his wife Megan recently relocated from Nashville, Tenn. to Lakeland to be closer to her family.
In his spare time, Hawkes enjoys playing bass guitar and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle around the state.
