As a community leader, you have stepped forward to say, “Yes, I want to play a part in creating opportunities for a healthy and prosperous community.”
We’re looking for people who bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to get things done. Because of your commitment to our community, we invite you to join the United Way of Central Florida’s Leadership Giving Association, a special group of leaders whose contributions are not only felt in their lifetimes, but for many years to come.
The Leadership Giving Association (LGA) was formed in 1987 through the visionary leadership and personal involvement of its founding fathers, Guy Bostick, R.L. “Buddy” Fletcher, the late George W. Jenkins, and the late P. Scott Linder. These volunteers set out to encourage and honor the generosity of individuals and families who invest $1,000 or more annually. Over the past 23 years, the Leadership Giving Association has flourished from 64 families to nearly 1,800 members. The Leadership Giving Association exemplifies unparalled generosity and leadership. Leadership Givers do more than just give, they get involved, guiding the organization and even volunteering their time.
Within the LGA, there are also specific groups to which you can belong, based on your contribution:
- The Tocqueville Society — for contributions of $10,000 per year or more
- Démocratie Society — for contributions of $5,000 – 9,999 per year
- Women United — for women who have contributed $1,000 per year or more
- Young Leaders Society — for individuals under the age of 45 who step up their contribution as they create change
These groups demonstrate unparalled generosity and leadership, and they do more than just give. They also get involved, guiding the organization and volunteering their time to create positive change in our community. They truly understand what it means to LIVE UNITED.
