Women United is a vibrant, diverse community of women leaders within United Way who transform communities across the world. This group is a powerful, global network of strong women in more than 165 communities across six countries. Since 2002, Women United has invested $1.5 billion in local solutions for health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. Women United believes in the collective power of women and that by empowering each other, we can accomplish more for our communities.

To celebrate the success of United Way of Central Florida’s “Women’s Leadership Council,” and the community of women who bring passion, expertise and resources to Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties, we are excited to announce a new name for the group.

“Women United” reflects the positive impact the group has in Central Florida. Women United donors empower women and organizations to strengthen communities by working together to create innovative solutions and by forging powerful partnerships within communities.

A powerful philanthropic force, women are more likely to give, and give more, across almost every charitable subsector.

Members are deeply committed to mobilizing the caring power of women as they work to create a legacy of change. In 2012, the ReadingPals program was added to advance education by providing more books for kids and the mentoring and tutoring needed to improve academic achievement.
